Taylor Swift HUMILIATES Beyoncé’s VMA Record, Makes History As Madonna Steals The Show At 68!
Taylor Swift has officially rewritten the history books at the MTV Video Music Awards!
The pop superstar broke away from Beyoncé to become the most successful artist in MTV VMA history, after winning the coveted Video of the Year award for The Fate of Ophelia.
Swift entered the ceremony tied with Beyoncé on 30 VMA wins, but her latest victory took her total to 31, giving her the record outright.
And just when it looked like the night belonged entirely to Swift, Madonna came through at 68 and reminded everybody who the real Queen of Pop is!
Madonna won Artist of the Year, Best Dance and Best Collaboration alongside Sabrina Carpenter for Bring Your Love.
She also received 13 nominations and picked up additional wins through her team for cinematography and choreography.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s Lisa made history of her own by becoming the first Asian solo artist to win Best Pop at the VMAs.
Taylor also shocked fans by debuting the video for her new song Patient Zero, featuring Hollywood stars Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson.
Taylor broke the record. Madonna dominated at 68. Lisa made history.
This VMA night was packed with serious pop culture moments!

Taylor Swift didn’t simply accept another award on Sunday night.
She made VMA history — and then used one of the biggest moments of her career to honor someone she had looked up to for years.
Taylor took home Video of the Year at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards for “The Fate of Ophelia,” marking her sixth victory in the category. The win also helped make her the most-awarded artist in VMA history.
But instead of making the moment entirely about herself, Taylor turned her attention toward Dolly Parton.
As she reached the end of her acceptance speech, Taylor dedicated the award to Dolly, calling her “the ultimate showgirl.”
Then came the words that made the entire moment feel completely different.
Taylor spoke about how Dolly’s songwriting and storytelling had always felt almost cinematic to her — saying that listening to Dolly’s songs was like watching the best music video imaginable every time.
She also praised the way Dolly had transformed everything she experienced throughout her life and career into love, gratitude and appreciation for her fans.
And then Taylor delivered the line that seemed to capture exactly why the tribute meant so much to her:
She said she was lucky to have been one of Dolly’s fans — and always would be. 💔
The timing made the moment even more emotional.
Earlier that same night, Kacey Musgraves performed Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” as a tribute to the country music legend, creating an emotional thread that carried through the entire ceremony.
And Taylor’s winning video made the moment even more fitting.
“The Fate of Ophelia” was written and directed by Taylor herself, with the visual designed to appear as though it had been filmed in one continuous shot. Taylor explained during her speech that she learned how to hide cuts in order to create that effect.
So there she stood — holding one of the biggest awards of the night, celebrating a video she had personally created, while dedicating the achievement to an artist whose storytelling had influenced generations.
It wasn’t just another VMA acceptance speech.
It became a tribute from one generation of storytellers to another.
🎤 Taylor won the award.

🏆 And Taylor used her historic moment to make sure Dolly’s legacy was at the center of it.
For fans watching, it was the kind of VMA moment that went far beyond the trophy.
